How to use this Directory

This page briefly explains how to use the Directory.

Types of services

There are many different types of services assisting in breast cancer control. To help you understand the different services and their role in the management of breast cancer click on any category listed under EXPLANATION OF SERVICES in the left hand menu.

Searching by location, state or territory: You can use the map of Australia to find a hospital by state or within a defined geographical region. Where appropriate, state based regional area health services are used. All hospitals have been allotted into the appropriate geographical region based on their location:

  • Select the geographical region you are interested in from the map. Clicking in a state will show you a list of all the regions. Clicking further into a specific region will refine your list and show you a list of all hospitals in this area.
  • To narrow your search to either private or public hospitals, ensure that you have a tick in the box next to the option you are looking for. To search for all hospitals in a particular area, ensure that both private and public are ticked.
  • To return a full list of all hospitals in the directory by alphabetical order: select the FIND button above the map of Australia.

Searching for a particular hospital:

If you know the hospital you are looking for - enter the name of the hospital in the FIND BY NAME box above the map and hit find.

Types of breast cancer services available at a particular hospital

Once you have found the list of hospitals appropriate to your search - click on the hospital name to reveal a list of services available and the relevant contact details for this establishment.
